GE Refrigerator Error Code Guide
GE refrigerators may display error codes or warning indicators when the electronic control detects an abnormal operating condition.
The code can help identify which system needs attention, but it does not necessarily mean that a particular component should automatically be replaced.

| FF | Freezer temperature too high | Check the freezer door, gasket, airflow, evaporator frost condition, fans and cooling system. |
| PF | Power failure | Check for a recent power interruption, loose plug, tripped breaker or unstable electrical supply. |
| CI | Icemaker problem | Check for jammed ice, frozen cubes, water supply, icemaker operation and related wiring. |
| dE | Defrost system problem | Inspect the defrost heater, temperature sensor, thermostat where applicable, wiring and electronic control. |
| CC | Refrigerator temperature too warm | Check the refrigerator temperature, door closure, airflow, fans and overall cooling performance. |
| tC | TurboCool is active | This is normally an operating indication rather than an error. TurboCool has been activated. |
| tF | TurboFreeze is active | This is normally an operating indication rather than a fault. TurboFreeze has been activated. |
| DE | Demo / showroom mode on applicable models | Verify whether the refrigerator is operating in Demo or Showroom mode if the lights and controls operate but normal cooling is disabled. |
| HRS | Electronic/control indication on some GE models | Check incoming power, electronic control, connectors and wiring. Use model-specific service information for diagnosis. |

Before Replacing Refrigerator Parts
An error code tells you that the refrigerator's electronic control detected an abnormal condition. It does not always identify the component that actually failed.
Before replacing a control board, thermistor, fan motor, defrost component or other part, inspect the wiring and connections and verify the refrigerator's complete model number.
Temperature and cooling problems can also result from blocked airflow, frost buildup, failed fans, door-sealing problems or sealed-system problems.
